SLIC/0007 Product Overview
Do you have new requirements to deliver based on the GEIA-STD-0007 (Rev A) format? Are you creating/managing your technical documentation in an S1000D format? Do you want to improve your management of accurate inventories/task parts resources, or to improve the quality/ accuracy of your resource predictions?
Why don’t you take a look at SLIC/0007?
In 2008 the DOD adopted a new standard for supportability analysis, GEIA-STD-0007, replacing the canceled MIL-STD-1388-2B. This new standard is being implemented by an increasing number of defense programs using SLICwave’s powerful 0007 dual-use module, now enhanced to comply fully with Rev A of the standard.
GEIA-STD-0007-A provides an alternative approach to managing and exchanging logistics product data, focusing on structured data definition and transfer based on XML (Extensible Markup Language). ISS’s comprehensive 0007 module totally satisfies the requirements for compliance. Additionally, SLICwave provides numerous powerful and user-friendly tools to assist you with creating and maintaining your 0007 data.
Benefits
Seamless Integration. Fully integrated with SLICwave’s MIL-STD-1388-2B/LMI capability, the SLIC/0007 module provides the benefits of both standards in a single seamless interface. This minimizes legacy program transition costs, since SLICwave can convert your LMI/MIL-STD-1388-2B data automatically to 0007-A XML format. You can take full advantage of all legacy capability and familiarity of MIL-STD-1388-2B/LMI for existing programs, and transition data to the 0007 standard as needed.
Technical Documentation Creation. Easily repurpose your LSA data right out of SLICwave to create/update Tech Data Work Packages, IPBs, Provisioning Lists, Packaging Requirements, etc., using XML defined by industry standard formats (DEXes).
Parts Management. Use SLICwave’s powerful new 0007 tools to “smart tag” the parts you reference in your maintenance task procedure narrative. This not only significantly improves data quality (eliminating misspelled, mis-referenced, or obsolete parts), but also allows you to do very accurate cost and change impact assessments associated with ongoing DCNs. You can easily view everywhere a part is used and referenced in the LSA, and change it globally with a push of a button.:
Better Maintenance Resource Tracking. Track your task and sub task resources (including associated spare and repair parts, support equipment, personnel, etc.) more efficiently. Reduce your data development cost and time using SLICwave’s powerful sub task referencing toolset.
S1000D Interface. Integrate easily and automatically with your S1000D authoring system of choice using SLICwave’s S1000D Interface Module. SLICwave creates Task DEXes from the 0007 maintenance task data in SLICwave which can easily be repurposed to create,
Cautions, Warning, and Notes Library. Create a library of standard Notes, Warnings, and Cautions that allow you to manage all your CWN data in one place for easy update and reusability (or interfacing with your S1000D CSDB to access these with the SLIC/S1000D interface module).
Digital Drawing/Document Management. Identify your digital files and drawings, and associate these with parts, tasks, sub tasks, support equipment, LCNs, etc. Embed these in your task narrative or launch them straight from SLIC.
Common Data Viewer. View and manage all your maintenance task/sub task data via an XML/HTML-based viewer that displays your data in a pubs-like format.
Classic SLICwave capability. Use all the power of SLICwave’s comprehensive toolset with build forward of the GEIA-STD-0007.
