InSync is the result of experience and vision. We drew on years of success in providing effective product life cycle management, change management, in-service asset management, and configuration management solutions to evolve the InSync solution to best fit customer needs. InSync is a flexible, easy-to-use system for collaborative product lifecycle management.
ISS solutions have been meeting tough, customer-driven data management requirements from aerospace leaders like Boeing, Dassault, BAE Systems, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, and L-3 Communications since 1984.
ISS understands you need to manage your own complex product configurations. We also understand how dramatically your needs can grow as complex product information is distributed to you across a supply chain – not to mention multiple supply chains. To meet the challenge, InSync was designed to support the management of product data that may be coming from any number of sources. That is why suppliers like Boeing and Spirit Aerospace count on InSync to enable efficient and cost-effective product content exchange and product lifecycle management with the latest technology based on internationally approved (ISO) standards such as STEP and XML.
InSync gives you a completely functional PLM solution right from the start; but that's only the beginning.
You can change InSync's vocabulary to match yours, and customize the InSync workspace to suit your needs and preferences. You can set up processes so the information you need is readily available. You can even create your own fields and processes to meet your critical requirements.
InSync is easily scaled to the scope of your implementation, from a small workgroup solution to an internet-enabled, worldwide network. You can start small and grow with your needs. InSync is the right solution for virtually any sized project.
InSync reflects the best practices in CM while being flexible enough to support the processes that you determine are the best for your business.
This balance helps ensure that you can deploy InSync rapidly – on schedule and on budget.
The key to our fast implementation is that InSync provides a comprehensive, yet configurable data model, which reflects industry lessons learned over the last 30+ years of solving problems for our customers in the aerospace industry.
Because it is quick and economical to implement, InSync protects you from the greatest risk a PLM project can run – taking shortcuts to keep the project moving.
You can realize results with InSync while companies implementing other systems are still holding meetings.
Internal efficiency and flexibility are not enough. Your PLM system must talk to other systems which contain your valuable planning, engineering, and manufacturing information. InSync tools make it easy to integrate your critical business systems.
For the simplest data exchanges InSync is compatible with Microsoft® Office® Clipboard. Rows of data may be copied from InSync and pasted into Excel®, and vice versa.
For larger data sets InSync can directly write to and read from Excel spreadsheets (XLS and XLSX). This makes it easy, for example, to load large sets of part data, documents, change requests and multi-level parts lists. In the other direction data from any InSync screen, bill of material, or user defined queries can be exported to Excel to leverage its data analytics capability or to import into other systems. If these exchanges will be repeated on a regular basis, we provide server side utilities to help with the automation of export and import.
InSync also has a long history of working with customers to provide custom data exchanges using STEP format, custom fixed file format, custom spreadsheets, and XML based exchange files. Please contact our services team to see how we could help you with similar custom solutions.
For customers who prefer their own custom data exchange, a powerful API, the Integration Toolkit (ITK), is available.
One of the reasons you can be confident in InSync's design is that InSync's core architecture grew out of support for established military, government, and industrial standards for Configuration Management.
Originally based on MIL-STD-973 (US Military Standard for Configuration Management) InSync expanded to support MIL-STD-2549 when this newer standard replaced MIL-STD-973. We've also integrated workflow and library (file) management functions which enhance compliance with the more procedural standards like ISO-9001 and ISO-10007. InSync is compatible with most of NASA-0005 (NASA Configuration Management Standard), and portions of MIL-HDBK-61B (US DOD Configuration Management Guidance) and EIA-649 (National Consensus Standard for Configuration Management). All these standards share general requirements for identification, change control, and baselining, but use different terminology and mechanisms to get there.
InSync hasn't stopped there. We have over 20 years of customer feedback incorporated to extend and enhance the data model, reporting capabilities, product life cycle support, and usability.
Because every program has different requirements, InSync offers a number of modules providing supplemental capability. These modules enhance your ability to manage your program life cycle information in a number of useful ways, from managing your As-Built and As-Maintained Bills of Materials to utilizing a powerful STEP/AP232 Data Exchange format. Modules include:
